After spending ludicrous amounts of money on the first Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight, and voicing mostly disappointment, would the fans be willing to do it all over again in hopes of the rematch being more entertaining?

Boxing is one thing, but Floyd vs. Manny is another. There are great matches happening virtually every week, with most not even being noticed. Even those fights that get the attention of international media as well as the top ranked TV networks, they are soon forgotten.

Only those bouts that make their way into history and are there to stay, can draw an unprecedented amount of fans and money over and over again. Mayweather vs. Pacquiao is that very fight, which alleviates common sense and turns people into fanatics.

According to a report by NYPost.com, despite both camps denying anything that even resembles a rematch, it is already being discussed and negotiated

“It’s already being negotiated. ” writes Richard Johnson, the author of the article, stating an insider source told him this.

“The fight will be the first event at the under-construction MGM–AEG Arena set to open next year,” continued Johnson.

No doubt a rematch would yield an astronomical amount of profit once again. Maybe it would not surpass their first fight, but it would come close. With Pacquiao blaming his performance on his shoulder injury, slowly convincing countless boxing fans this to be true, a rematch would potentially bring back the fire when it comes to the curiosity in this fight.
