There are surprises around every corner in boxing and last week I spotted a face I hadn’t seen for quite some time this past Thursday afternoon.

Inside of the Roy Jones Jr. Fight Academy in Vegas, I saw Tommy Summers, aka Tommy Smalls, monitoring the progress of 16-year old boxing star Devin “The Dream” Haney as he rigorously went through the rounds.

Smalls was formerly a member of Floyd Mayweather’s training camp but left at the time when 50 Cent and star boxer from Grand Rapids had a falling out in 2012.

There is obviously still a lot of love come from Smalls, as he had nothing but praise for Mayweather following his recent lopsided unanimous decision over Manny Pacquiao on May at the MGM Grand.

Check the video below for more from Smalls on Floyd’s performance and the history between the two men.
