Manny Pacquiao’s career looks to be back on track following a commanding unanimous decision over a very game Brandon Rios last night inside of the Venetian Resort’s Coati Arena in Macau, China.

Showing glimpses of the fighter that awed the boxing public with his trademark speed, movement, and combinations, Pacquiao was in control for almost every minute of the match outside of a few rally attempts from Rios.

After watching the fight unfold, junior middleweight veteran Rashad Holloway, a former sparring mate of Pacquiao’s, expressed how it was simply pleasing to see his old friend get a win following his disastrous knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez this past December.

On Saturday night, former lightweight champion Brandon Rios came up short against Manny Pacquiao.

For twelve frustrating rounds inside of the Venetian Resort’s Coati Arena, Pacquiao was simply too dynamic and sharp for Rios, as he used his movement and combination punching to nullify any kind of attack that the Kansas native attempted to bring.

Watching the fight from ringside, Rios’ stable mate and current WBO junior lightweight champion Mikey Garcia gave Pacquiao his deserved credit.

Moments ago, inside of the Venetian Resort’s Coati Arena in Macau, China, former eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao returned with a commanding victory over a game Brandon Rios.

The early rounds saw Pacquiao come out of the gates blazing with sharp punches from all angles. Rios seemed out of his element in the first round and ate his share of leather.

In rounds two and three, Rios had moments of success where he would tag Pacquiao with clubbing shots, but not enough to where he appeared to with either frame.

Pacquiao began to turn up the heat in the following rounds and looked to have a big lead through six rounds.

On paper, tonight’s Manny Pacquiao vs. Brandon Rios clash from the Venetian Resort’s Coati Arena in Macau, China sees several advantages lying with Pacquiao.

Not only is Rios moving up in weight, he has yet to deal with a southpaw with so many weapons as Pacquiao, including speed, power, and the ability to throw punches from a variety of angles.

Rios’ crude and pressing style has seen him do well thus far, but some feel that he may be tailor made for Pacquiao.

According to two-time heavyweight champion George Foreman, however, it is Rios who may be able to work his way towards a victory in the later rounds.
