While a bit of a harsh reality, fighters in the sport of boxing are often judged based off of their last performance.
It is that reason, that despite all of his accolades, eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao finds himself in a make or break fight situation with his forthcoming clash with former lightweight titlist Brandon Rios.

On Nov. 23, all eyes will be fixed upon eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, as he returns to the ring from the first time in nearly a year. Facing off with rugged brawler Brandon Rios in Macau, China in an HBO pay per view attraction, there are several questions hovering around him that Pacquiao will look to answer.
It was Dec. 8 of 2012 when Pacquiao suffered a horrific knockout loss at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez, as his Mexico City rival drilled him with a counter right hand that put him to sleep in the sixth round of their fourth fight in Las Vegas.
It makes the match with the always-pressing and hard-punching Rios that much more intriguing.
Catching up with WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley recently, I was extremely curious for his take on the Pacquiao-Rios showdown.

Floyd Mayweather Sr. has been a very busy man this year.
On top of reconnecting with his son Floyd as both a trainer and father, the elder Mayweather runs a busy schedule with a core group of professional fighters that consists of talented lightweights Mickey Bey and Lydell Rhodes, recently-debuted cruiserweight prospect Andrew Tabiti, and aspiring female prospect Maricela Cornejo.
With his son having beat Robert Guerrero convincingly this past May over twelve rounds, Mayweather Sr. now finds himself helping Floyd prepare for a huge clash with Mexican superstar Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, who he meets on Showtime pay per view on September 14th at the MGM Grand.
With so much of his time and thought devoted to his role as a trainer, Mayweather Sr. admits that it’s been hard to keep track of anything else boxing-related outside of his duties in the gym.
“I try to, but over these last months I’ve been very busy, man,” Mayweather Sr. stated. “I’ve moving here, I’m going there. A lot of things, man. It’s been kind of difficult for me to keep my eyes on things. I try my best to look at as much boxing as I can.”
On November 23rd, a welterweight clash will take place in Macau, China as former titlists Brandon Rios and Manny Pacquiao face off.

Brandon Rios warns Pacquiao; reveals he’s not impressed by the De La Hoya, Hatton, and Cotto victories

Despite his fight with eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao still well over four months away, former lightweight titlist Brandon Rios has been frequenting the gym in Oxnard, Calif. to keep his body warmed up and his mind sharp.
The fight figures to be an all-action thriller given the fighters’ histories in the ring as well the desperation both Rios and Pacquiao are facing after coming off of losses in their previous bouts.
Both setbacks took place in Las Vegas, as Rios was outpointed by Denver’s Mike Alvarado on March 30th over 12 scintillating rounds inside of the Mandalay Bay while Pacquiao was knocked unconscious by Juan Manuel Marquez in December inside of the MGM Grand.
Rios was ringside for Pacquiao-Marquez IV and admits that it was a fine shot that the Mexico City native landed to end Manny’s night.
“It was a nice punch that Marquez waited for,” Rios reflected. “He fought Manny Pacquiao three times up until the fight and he knew what to do to Manny Pacquiao. He knew how Manny Pacquiao fights, he knew. If you were to think about it, Marquez already knew how to beat him. This time, he just knocked his *ss out.”
