On Saturday night, Oct. 19, inside of the 1STBANK Center in Denver, Colo., Russian brute Ruslan Provodnikov scored the biggest victory of his career in outlasting hometown favorite and former WBO junior welterweight titlist Mike Alvarado.

The action was nip and tuck early on, but Provodnikov weathered Alvarado’s thunder and came on in the second half of the fight before scoring two knockdowns in the eighth round.

Provodnikov dished out some more heavy leather in the 10th, as Alvarado elected to stay on his stool in between rounds rather than answer the bell for more punishment.

Calling the fight from ringside for the international feed, longtime HBO analyst Larry Merchant gave great praise to new champion.

According to a report from the Huffington Post on Saturday, Oct. 19, music superstar Beyonce was recently spotted preparing for a free-fall over a tower in New Zealand.

The report comes on the heels of Beyonce taking to her personal Instagram page, where she posted two photos for her seven-million plus followers on the social-networking site.

“Freefall in New Zealand!” Beyonce would exclaim in the first photo, as she stood next to her instructor.

We are now a week removed from Tim Bradley’s spirited split-decision victory over Juan Manuel Marquez, as he edged the crafty Mexican over twelve rounds inside of the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In a tactical and tense affair, Bradley was able to outhustle Marquez in key spots while showing enough defensive prowess and quickness to stay out of harm’s way.

Inside of the arena, a pro-Marquez crowd wasn’t terribly happy with the decision that saw Bradley rightfully defend his WBO welterweight title for a second time.

Watching the action unfold from near ringside, former world champion and renowned trainer Robert Garcia admits that he got a little caught up in the atmosphere that evening.
