If you are ever looking for a fair, objective opinion on anything related to the sport of boxing, Showtime analyst Al Bernstein will likely fill your void.
In a few weeks’ time, Bernstein will find himself sitting ringside inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas when WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez faces off with Floyd Mayweather, the man widely regarded as the sport’s premier fighter.
The opinions on Mayweather-Alvarez have been hot and heavy, with the general consensus being that Floyd’s experience and vast array of skills will be a little too much for his 23-year old foe.
When assessing the matchup, Bernstein actually foresees a difficult task on both sides of the fence.
“I think it’s going to be a very competitive fight, I really do,” Bernstein would tell me recently. “Part of the reason is that Canelo Alvarez is one of the biggest, strongest guys that Mayweather has fought.”

According to a report from FreddyO.com on Saturday, Aug. 31, “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” star Joseline Hernandez was spitted at Traxx Girls’ party last night in Atlanta during pride weekend.
Also present inside of the club was Dice, known best for her role on “LaLa’s Full Court Life” as one of the sidekicks to La La Anthony, wife of New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony.
Joseline could be seen in various pictures with fans throughout the night, but one report claims that she got a little close with a female adorer.

It looks like former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-1-1, 32 KO’s) will be finishing up his preparation for his forthcoming bout against Brian Vera (23-6, 14 KO’s) out of the Top Rank Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The news came courtesy of welterweight prospect Chase “Checkmate” Corbin shortly after he finished sparring six rounds with the Mexican star.
Corbin has been a fixture around the Las Vegas scene for a few years after relocating from Philadelphia in late 2009. Working under the guidance of trainer Jeff Mayweather, Corbin (8-0, 7 KO’s) is a lanky boxer-puncher who has been involved in some memorable gym battles at the Mayweather Boxing Club and other locales in the city.
However, when sparring with Chavez, Corbin admitted that the classic bout between his fellow Philadelphian Meldrick Taylor and Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. was in the back of his mind.
