Floyd Mayweather Sr. has been a very busy man this year.

On top of reconnecting with his son Floyd as both a trainer and father, the elder Mayweather runs a busy schedule with a core group of professional fighters that consists of talented lightweights Mickey Bey and Lydell Rhodes, recently-debuted cruiserweight prospect Andrew Tabiti, and aspiring female prospect Maricela Cornejo.

With his son having beat Robert Guerrero convincingly this past May over twelve rounds, Mayweather Sr. now finds himself helping Floyd prepare for a huge clash with Mexican superstar Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, who he meets on Showtime pay per view on September 14th at the MGM Grand.

With so much of his time and thought devoted to his role as a trainer, Mayweather Sr. admits that it’s been hard to keep track of anything else boxing-related outside of his duties in the gym.

“I try to, but over these last months I’ve been very busy, man,” Mayweather Sr. stated. “I’ve moving here, I’m going there. A lot of things, man. It’s been kind of difficult for me to keep my eyes on things. I try my best to look at as much boxing as I can.”

On November 23rd, a welterweight clash will take place in Macau, China as former titlists Brandon Rios and Manny Pacquiao face off.

The stage is set for Manny Pacquiao’s next fight, as the eight-division world champion will square off with all-action former titlist Brandon Rios on November 24th in Macau, China in an HBO pay per view face off.

Pacquiao is coming off of a devastating knockout at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez this past December and there are mixed feelings on the Rios fight.

Some feel that that Oxnard, Calif. transplant will be easy prey given his straightforward style yet others see him as a formidable threat given his youth and relentlessness inside of the ring.

Speaking with Top Rank CEO Bob Arum on Tuesday evening, he insists that we will likely see something special in four months’ time.

As reported by various outlets, the ring return of eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao appears to be set for November 23rd in Macau, China.

And while the Filipino icon’s next opponent isn’t set, we do know two foes he won’t be facing; Juan Manuel Marquez and Tim Bradley.

Pacquiao lost a controversial split-decision to Bradley this past June and suffered a horrific, one-punch knockout at the hands of Marquez in December. The two men opted to turn down lucrative deals in facing Pacquiao again and instead will be squaring off with one another on September 14th inside of the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

In late April of last year, I was able to spend a few days with one of the sport’s top prizefighters, Tim Bradley, as he prepared for his huge showdown with Manny Pacquiao.

Bradley’s camp in Indio, California offered up an intimate look at a man full of confidence and focus as he meticulously prepared the daunting challenge that awaited him.

Having always been a fighter who loves to impose his mental and physical will in the trenches, I was quick to notice just how much of an emphasis Tim was putting on his footwork, speed, and angles for that particular camp.

With the Pacquiao fight now behind him, as Bradley (29-1, 12 KO’s) would end up pulling out a controversial split-decision on June 9th inside of the MGM Grand, the man nicknamed ‘Desert Storm’ is now eyeing a match with Russia’s Ruslan Provodnikov (22-1, 15 KO’s).
