It wasn’t always pretty, but it didn’t need to be. Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns combined for 53 points  to power New York through a spirited Atlanta challenge that kept things interesting deep into the fourth quarter.

Jokić Triple-Double, Murray’s 30 Points Power Nuggets Past Timberwolves 116-105

By Chris Robinson

Denver overcomes a rough start to seize control in a familiar playoff rivalry. Inside of the Ball Arena in Denver, the Nuggets overcame a spirited effort from the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves, 116-105, to win their first round playoff matchup.

It looked like trouble early. Minnesota came out swinging, the Timberwolves led by as many as 12 points in the opening quarter , and Ball Arena grew anxious as Denver’s offense sputtered through a disjointed start. But if there’s one thing this Nuggets team knows how to do, it’s find their footing — and once they did, there was no catching them.

The matchup for the 2015 NBA finals is set, and it’s not surprising given the talent on both teams. Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors handled the Houston Rockets to move on to their first NBA finals since 1975. The Warriors finals berth comes a day after the Cleveland Cavaliers swept the Atlanta Hawks.

Both the Cavaliers and Warriors share several similarities. Each team has a long history of losing: Cavaliers have never won a NBA championship while the Warriors won three but two were while they were still the Philadelphia Warriors. The Warriors have more of a storied history than the Cavaliers with such greats as Rick Barry and Chris Mullins. The most recent generation of basketball fans, knows the Warriors for the Baron Davis lead squad that upset the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the 2007 NBA playoffs.

One story that is universally loved in every sport; redemption.

LeBron James went from being one of the most well-liked players in the NBA to one of the most reviled after the now infamous “The Decision” telecast on ESPN prior to his departure to the Miami Heat.

Kobe Bryant says he’s not alright with Tim Duncan possibly passing him with 6 rings

kobe

Perennial all-star Tim Duncan is still soaking up the aura following the San Antonio Spurs’ five-game thrashing of the Miami Heat that led him to his fifth world championship.

Duncan is without question one of this generation’s finest, yet don’t expect fellow champion Kobe Bryant to be over supportive.

Bryant, who has collected five rings himself with the Los Angeles Lakers, was asked about Duncan possibly capturing a sixth ring and he seemed unsure.

“If you ask me if I’m okay with Tim doing it, I’m not,” Bryant said. “I’m not okay with that.”
