As seen earlier today, Floyd Mayweather has taken to his personal Instagram page to dismiss reports that a May 2 clash with Manny Pacquiao is set for Las Vegas.

The buzz on boxing’s dream match continues to build but after so many years of anticipation, not everyone is sold that Mayweather vs. Pacquiao will happen this year.

“It’s hard to say,” former junior middleweight champion Ishe Smith stated recently. “I would think everything could come together and those guys could make it happen.

“Floyd is the best athlete in the world and he is going to want to dictate all the terms and he should,” Smith added. “I personally want the fight to happen, but we’ll see what happens.”

Smith fights under the Mayweather Promotions banner and has seen his boss up close too many times to ever go against him if the bout were to ever come off.

“I think Floyd picks him apart,” Smith explained. “Floyd is very smart, very intelligent. He’s got more stength and power than people give him credit for. I think it would be a very good fight for him.”
