Introducing the real Stephane Malenou

In the sport of boxing, you have to look beneath the surface.

When I first crossed paths with Cameroon-born Stephane Malenou earlier this week in Las Vegas, I didn’t know what to expect.

Campaigning as a welterweight with a modest 10-6-1 record with 3 knockouts, I wasn’t taken aback by Malenou’s story at first, but I admit he has grown on me quickly over the past few days.

You have to know how to not only survive but also thrive in this game, and that is exactly what Malenou has been doing.

Check out the photos below for a sneak peak at Stephane in action and stay tuned for several more updates in the coming weeks as we will be revealing his story in-depth.

Please follow Stephane on Twitter / Facebook / www.StephaneMalenou.com

The boxing world was hit with big news on Monday afternoon, as it was revealed that former Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has stepped down from the company. In a statement issued to various outlets, Schaefer stated the following.

“After more than ten years with Golden Boy, it is time to move on to the next chapter of my career. This decision has required a great deal of personal reflection, but ultimately I concluded that I have no choice but to leave. I have succeeded in banking and I have succeeded in boxing, and I look forward to the next opportunity. I am proud to remain a shareholder, so I have a strong interest in the continued success of the company.
