It’s been a little over a month since his latest performance and Shawn Porter is back to doing what he does best as he has returned to light training out in Las Vegas.
On March 13, Porter scored a 5th round stoppage over Ecuador’s Erick Bone to improve his ledger to 25-1-1 with 16 knockouts. The win helped erase the bad taste that came following Porter’s mild upset loss to UK star Kell Brook this past August.
Porter and his father and trainer Kenny could be found inside of Barry’s Boxing Gym on Tuesday afternoon putting in some light work. Strength and conditioning coach Larry Wade assisted Shawn before Kenny’s arrival shortly after 2 pm.
The Porters were in New York this past weekend for the latest Premier Boxing Champions card at Barclays Center, as Danny Garcia won a hotly-contested majority-decision over Lamont Peterson.
While in town, Porter came face to face with WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman, as the two discussed a possible showdown. It’s a fight that very much makes sense and the latest talk is of the match possibly going down this June.
Porter should be stepping up the intensity in camp soon. For now please check out his training below as well as some recent interviews with the team.
