Photographer Tom Casino has captured several telling boxing shots over the years, including this image of Lucas Matthysse

Ask anyone from the boxing circuit who has been around photographer Tom Casino and they can surely tell you how affable and genuine of a guy he is.
That’s why it’s all the more disheartening to hear of Casino’s recent condition, as he is presently recovering from back surgery this past summer, followed by a near-lethal pulmonary embolism and stomach virus called c.diff. Casino went through six months of physical rehabilitation and he is looking at more than $100,000 in health-care expenses.
Seems like just yesterday that we were seeing Tom at several high-profile events, but now his focus is on a much bigger mission.
Casino is beloved by those in the fight community and known worldwide for his ringside images of some of the sport’s best. Tom is presently undergoing grueling physical therapy sessions three times a week at the Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ as he continues to fight to get better.
