WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24 KO’s) was electric on Saturday night, stopping highly-regarded contender Matthew Macklin in under three rounds of action after a wicked body shot put the Birmingham native down for the count.

Macklin had gone eleven spirited rounds with Argentina’s Sergio Martinez a little over a year ago but he simply had no answer for Golovkin on this night.
Speaking with various members of the media after his latest triumph, Golovkin admitted that the Macklin clash was perhaps a little easier than expected. [Click HERE to watch the video]
