Anyone familiar with the subplots leading into the Floyd Mayweather vs. Robert Guerrero clash this past May will recall just how heated things got between the fathers of the two prizefighters.
Floyd Mayweather Sr. and Ruben Guerrero drew headlines for their trash talk towards one another and even nearly came to blows at the final press conference for the fight.
Fast forward eight months and Mayweather Sr. and Guerrero were again jawing at each other, with things nearly getting ugly.
The setting was the Italian restaurant Buca di Peppo in Las Vegas, where Mayweather Sr., Guerrero, trainer Yoel Judah, and handful of select fighters were on hand for a private dinner hosted ahead of NUVOtv’s new reality series “Knockout”.
The premise of the show will see Mayweather Sr., Guerrero, and Judah each take on one fighter at 140, 147, and 154 pounds, as they will compete against each other to see who can bring the best out of their charge until one man in each class is left standing.
From there, the fighter will be granted with an opportunity to face a top 20 contender to further propel their career.
As the dinner was ending, Mayweather Sr., Guerrero, and Judah were all posing for the cameras when a little gamesmanship began taking place.
“I aint even going to hurt you,” Mayweather Sr. said to Guerrero. “I’m going to get you later.”
“I’ll give you the first shot brother,” Guerrero responded. “Go for it! Do it!”
Guerrero then got in Mayweather Sr.’s face and the two men had to be separated, but not before a few shoves and punches were thrown.
Stay tuned for more updates on the “Knockout” reality series.

Mayweather Sr. feels that both Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana are easy work for Floyd
Will Marcos Maidana one day land a shot at Floyd Mayweather?
By Chris Robinson
When it comes to the next opponent for his son, trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. seems to have little concern.
At the moment the two names being tossed around most for a crack at Mayweather are that of British star Amir Khan and Argentina’s Marcos Maidana.
Khan is riding a two-fight winning streak following his TKO loss to Danny Garcia in July of 2012 but it is Maidana who carries more momentum at the moment with his recent upset over Adrien Broner.
Neither man is a threat to Floyd, however, claims Mayweather Sr.
“Both of them would be easy,” stated Mayweather Sr. “That’s two easy fights there. Both of them is easy. Maidana might have punching power, but you still can’t hit what you can’t see. And that’s going to put Maidana under the tree. It’s simple.”
Mayweather Sr. couldn’t let the interview finish without one last dig at Khan.
“Amir Khan has got a glass jaw, man, and if you look at it too hard it could shatter,” stated Floyd Sr.

Floyd Mayweather Sr. feels that Manny Pacquiao might pull out a win over Tim Bradley if they fight again

By Chris Robinson
If Manny Pacquiao and Tim Bradley end up fighting again, there will likely be a wide range of contrasting predictions regarding the rematch.
Bradley upset Pacquiao via a controversial split-decision in June of 2012 and each man appears to have a vested interest in another encounter.
During a swing through the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas earlier this week, I spoke with trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr., who seems honestly intrigued by a rematch scenario.
“If you would have gave it to Pacquiao, there would have been no problems,” Mayweather Sr. said when reflecting on the first fight. “If you gave it Bradley, it shouldn’t have been no problem. Looked pretty close to me.”
Pacquiao was stopped by Juan Manuel Marquez in December of 2012 and bounced back with a convincing unanimous decision over Brandon Rios this past November.
In the wake of that victory, Mayweather Sr. was quick to criticize Rios, as he attempted downplay Pacquiao’s victory, but he has since seemed to have a small change of heart.
“Pacquiao looked real good to me against Rios,” Mayweather Sr. stated. “He looked good. I’m not saying he was a Mayweather, but he looked good.”
And if the rematch does come off, Mayweather Sr. feels Pacquiao might find a way to snatch the victory.
“Pacquiao might pull that off,” Mayweather Sr. claimed. “I’m just saying, from the first fight, it depends on what you thought about it, but I just see a different fight.”
