Team Combat League Tryouts Take Place in Las Vegas, starting this Thursday, Oct. 6

Dewey Cooper has been a very busy trainer in recent weeks, whether working out of his personal gym on the east side of Las Vegas or meeting up with his fighters at other locations within the city.

Speaking recently from within the hybrid Split-T Boxing/One Kick’s Gym, Cooper informed us of a new professional fighter’s league that he will be playing a big part in.

“There’s a new professional boxing league starting,” Cooper said. “It has a team concept just like your NFL, your NBA; but it’s boxing. It’s called Team Combat League.”

Team Combat League is a new league that will officially begin in March of 2023. The league has plans to branch out to Mexico, Canada, and Europe, after initially launching in North America.

The league will also feature genders competing in matches as part of the same team. The first franchises will be the New York City Attitude, the Los Angeles Terminators, the Dallas Enforcers, the Houston Hitmen, the Las Vegas Hustle, the Philadelphia Smokers, the DC Destroyers, and the Cali Baja Brawlers.

The early matchups will officially kick off on March 11, 2023 and will continue weekly on the East and West Coast for 12 weeks. There will reportedly be 18 active fighters and six backup fighters per team.

There will also be a playoff season that will feature four qualifying teams appearing in two semifinal matches, with the two prevailing teams proceeding to compete the championship match in July.

Cooper also revealed that he will be the head trainer of the Las Vegas Hustle, with tryouts set to take place from within Split-T Boxing on Thursday, Oct. 6, and Friday, Oct. 7. Starting time will be at 10 AM/PT for anyone in the area.
