During any fight week in Las Vegas you are sure to run into your usual cast of characters. There are a lot of good people in the sport, both in the media and pugilistic field, and it’s good to catch up with everyone during these times.

Manny Pacquiao faces Tim Bradley on Saturday night, from the MGM Grand here in Las Vegas, and those in press row have been busy as usual. Our friend Naoki Fukuda has been kind enough to share some of his images through the early fight week days.

It was business as usual for WBO junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford this past Saturday night, as he stopped a brave but outgunned Hank Lundy inside of five rounds in front of a sold-out crowd of 5,092 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York.

On HBO’s airwaves, Crawford was calm and calculated as always, as he brushed off a strong start by Lundy before breaking him down in the fifth with a knockdown and a barrage of punches soon afterwards that prompted referee Steve Willis to call a halt to the action.

Once again showcasing HBO’s airwaves, Crawford (27-0, 19 KO’s) was too strong and precise for his Haitian-Canadian foe, who drops to 29-2 with 20 knockouts.

Photos from the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. as two-division world champion Timothy Bradley (32-1-1, 12 KO’s) pulls out a 12-round unanimous decision victory over previously-undefeated junior welterweight titlist Jessie Vargas (26-1, 9 KO’s).

In a very competitive and fast-paced matchup, Bradley was a little too busy for Vargas, but had to survive a big scare in the final round when he was rocked in the closing seconds. The fight was stopped seven seconds prematurely in the final frame by referee Pat Russell, all the reason enough for Vargas and his team to cry foul and call for a rematch.

The hurricane of drama that followed the Mayweather vs. Pacquio fight was almost expected, as these things never end on a good note.

Aside from the numerous lawsuits, Pacquiao had exposed a serious injury at the post fight press conference, stating that he had to fight with an injured shoulder, limiting his abilities in the ring. At first it seemed like that was his only announcement following the bout, which in itself is a very powerful statement.
