This past weekend, inside of the Madison Square Garden’s Theater, former WBA featherweight champion Nicholas “Axe-Man” Walters surrendered his title on the scales after coming in weighing 127 pounds, one over the featherweight division limit.

And while he may be returning to his native Jamaica without his title, not was all lost for the powerful prizefighter.

On HBO’s airwaves, Walters regrouped a day later to control his 12-rounds matchup vs. Columbia’s Miguel Marriaga, winning comfortably. After the final bell rung, scores of 119-108, 118-109, and 117-110 all came in in favor of Walters.

And while a move up to the junior lightweight class may be in store, don’t count out the possibility of him still facing off with WBO champion and fellow Top Rank fighter Vasyl Lomachenko in the future as well.

Check below for more exclusive photos of Walters’ latest victory.
