The retired, former pound-for-pound king made headlines last month when he revealed that he would be returning to face off with his former foe Manny Pacquiao in December. And while it’s obvious Mayweather vs. Pacquiao II won’t be happening this year, there seems to be real reason to believe we could see them face off in 2019.

Earlier today, inside of the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas, Nev., former five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather and UFC superstar Conor McGregor made weight ahead of their scheduled mega fight on SHOWTIME pay per view tomorrow.

McGregor came into the arena first, with Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize” playing in the background, while Mayweather came out to Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight” shortly thereafter.

Former five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather and MMA superstar/aspiring boxer Conor McGregor both made their grand arrivals to Las Vegas on Tuesday afternoon, in front of the T-Mobile Arena.

Mayweather (49-0, 26 KO’s) and McGregor (0-0) will meet on Saturday night in one of the biggest events in sports history. Check out the video below for a closer look at Tuesday’s arrivals.

On Friday night, Sep. 16, light heavyweight contender Lionell “Lonnie B” Thompson got back in the winner’s circle with a clear-cut eight-round unanimous decision over Chicago’s Donovan George. Thompson (17-4-1, 10 KO’s) was too sharp and agile for George (25-6-2, 222 KO’s), and registered a knockdown late in the match before claiming his victory.

Watching from ringside, amongst others, was Thompson’s promoter Floyd Mayweather of Mayweather Promotions. Mayweather defeated Andre Berto in September of last year and walked away from the sport afterwards, with no indication that he will be returning.

On Friday night, May 13, inside of the Sam’s Town Casino & Gambling Hall, cruiserweight contender Andrew “The Beast” Tabiti secured the biggest victory over his career in out-pointing New Jersey’s Keith “Machine Gun” Tapia over 10 rounds to claim the NABF title.

Sitting ringside during the bout was Tabiti’s promoter Floyd Mayweather. And while it’s not surprising to see the retired pound-for-pound king around the scene and supporting his fighters, it was the two men who were flanking Mayweather who caught our attention.

Floyd Mayweather is still less than two weeks removed from his official retirement, as the Grand Rapids native insists he is done with the sport of boxing following his 49th professional victory over Andre Berto on Sep. 12 in Las Vegas.

Mayweather bested Berto over 12 rounds, capturing a unanimous decision by scores of 120-108, 118-1110, and 117-111 inside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Now 49-0 as a professional with 26 knockouts behind him, Mayweather closed the final bout of his six-fight deal with SHOWTIME by defeating Berto and he presently has no obligations to get back into the ring.

On Wednesday afternoon, Sep. 9, Floyd Mayweather and Andre Berto came face to face at their final press conference ahead of their pay per view collision on Saturday night.

Mayweather (48-0, 26 KO’s) faces off with Berto (30-3, 23 KO’s) on SHOWTIME pay per view from the MGM Grand and while the fight wasn’t at first greeted by open arms from the boxing public, there is no doubt that several eyes will be fixated on the matchup this weekend given the fact that it may be Floyd’s final appearance in the ring.

As the Sep. 12 Floyd Mayweather vs. Andre Berto matchup pushes closer, all indications point towards both men taking the contest extremely seriously ahead of their welterweight title showdown. The matchup is set for SHOWTIME pay per view inside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

At the 30-day weigh-in, Mayweather hit the scales at 149.8  pounds while Berto was eight pounds over at 155.
