Brandon Rios warns Pacquiao; reveals he’s not impressed by the De La Hoya, Hatton, and Cotto victories

Despite his fight with eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao still well over four months away, former lightweight titlist Brandon Rios has been frequenting the gym in Oxnard, Calif. to keep his body warmed up and his mind sharp.
The fight figures to be an all-action thriller given the fighters’ histories in the ring as well the desperation both Rios and Pacquiao are facing after coming off of losses in their previous bouts.
Both setbacks took place in Las Vegas, as Rios was outpointed by Denver’s Mike Alvarado on March 30th over 12 scintillating rounds inside of the Mandalay Bay while Pacquiao was knocked unconscious by Juan Manuel Marquez in December inside of the MGM Grand.
Rios was ringside for Pacquiao-Marquez IV and admits that it was a fine shot that the Mexico City native landed to end Manny’s night.
“It was a nice punch that Marquez waited for,” Rios reflected. “He fought Manny Pacquiao three times up until the fight and he knew what to do to Manny Pacquiao. He knew how Manny Pacquiao fights, he knew. If you were to think about it, Marquez already knew how to beat him. This time, he just knocked his *ss out.”

2012 U.S. Olympian and present-day welterweight/junior middleweight prospect Errol Spence Jr. (6-0, 5 KO’s) saw his name thrust into the spotlight this past April when it was revealed that he had temporarily relocated to Las Vegas to serve as a sparring partner for Floyd Mayweather ahead of his dominant victory over Robert Guerrero.
Having gone chest to chest with Mayweather for some lively sessions, Spence knows all too well of all the tricks and guile that the 36-year old future Hall-of-Famer possesses, and he has little doubt that Floyd will find a way to emerge victorious in his next assignment, a September 14th clash with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez at the MGM Grand.
“I think Floyd is going to outpoint him,” Spence told me recently. “I think Floyd is too quick for him, too smart, too fast. I don’t think Canelo has a high enough work rate. I just think he’s going to outpoint him.”

According to a report from MediaTakeOut.com on Sunday, June 30, aspiring model Karrueche Tran appears to be taking some shots at a new woman who is connected to music star Chris Brown.
Karrueche, of course, gained a big part of her fame after being connected to Chris for over a year. Even during Chris’ reconnection with his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, Karrueche found a way to stay in the headlines.
It turns out that Chris is spending some time with a new woman named Blair. The early report of their connection to one another actually surfaced earlier this month, as the “Fortune” singer was spotted with her going to a nightclub despite appearing to still be dating Karrueche at the time.
On Friday, Blair took to her personal Instagram page, where she showed off a photo herself where she appeared to be pumping gas into Chris’ ride.

WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24 KO’s) was electric on Saturday night, stopping highly-regarded contender Matthew Macklin in under three rounds of action after a wicked body shot put the Birmingham native down for the count.
As modest and low-key as a prizefighter as you will find, Golovkin is starting to endear himself to boxing fans with his seek-and-destroy style and destructive power. Macklin had gone eleven spirited rounds with Argentina’s Sergio Martinez a little over a year ago but he simply had no answer for Golovkin on this night.
Speaking with various members of the media after his latest triumph, Golovkin admitted that the Macklin clash was perhaps a little easier than expected. [Click HERE to watch the video]
