Last night’s Showtime-televised triple header from the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. was definitely a memorable evening.

Taking in the action from ringside, three-division world champion Adrien Broner chimed in with his thoughts throughout the evening.

In the co-feature, Gary Russell Jr. lost a competitive decision to Vasyl Lomachenko in a battle of former amateur standouts.

Having known Russell since his amateur days, Broner told him to keep his head up.

“Keep your head up @mrgaryrusselljr go back to the drawing board you fought one hell of a fight. Minor set back for a major come back,” Broner stated via Instagram.

While there is no word on his next bout, Broner did mention to Radio Rahim that he was going to be checking out former titlist Robert Guerrero in action prior to his slugfest victory over Yoshihiro Kamegai. Check out the interview below.

During tonight’s Showtime triple header from the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya took a minute to discuss the latest with his company.

There was a huge shakeup recently, as it was revealed that longtime Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer had left the company.

There had been rumblings about De La Hoya and Schaefer arguing but Oscar refused to shed too much light into the breakup.

“I had one agenda and he had another,” De La Hoya explained.

De Le Hoya was quick to highlight his desire to work with the sport’s biggest star at the moment, Floyd Mayweather.

Mayweather had also revealed, through his advisor Leonard Ellerbe, that he would be distancing himself from Golden Boy Promotions also, yet De La Hoya doesn’t seem deterred.

“Floyd Mayweather is on top of the world,” De La Hoya stated respectfully. “Really grateful to be working with him his last nine fights. History in the making; doing something great for boxing. But Floyd, let’s move together and let’s move foreyard and create the biggest fights that he fans want.”

Stay tuned for more updates.
