For the past 24 hours, the boxing world has been buzzing about the altercation that took place in Macau, China between Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach and members from Brandon Rios’ camp, including trainer Robert Garcia and strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza.
Pacquiao faces Rios this Saturday night in an HBO pay per view event that has seen its interest rise because of the theatrics.
In various videos that have circulated online, Roach could be seen exchanging words with Garcia and moments later getting kicked by Ariza as the dialogue continued to heat up.
The argument stemmed from Roach wanting to clear out Garcia and Rios from the gym the camps were sharing so he could work with his fighters. When Garcia attempted to explain that Rios was simply running a little behind schedule, Roach began to get irate.

The Manny Pacquiao vs. Brandon Rios event got a little more buzz late Tuesday when a near brawl broke out between trainer Freddie Roach and members from Rios’ team.
Pacquiao and Rios are set to meet this Saturday in the Cotai Arena inside of the Venetian Resort in Macau, China in an HBO pay per view duel.
The aforementioned altercation took place when Roach, longtime trainer of Pacquiao, and Garcia, Rios’ coach dating back to his amateurs, began exchanging words with one another due to Rios being a little late with his workout inside of the lone gym in the hotel.
Roach was ready to take over the facility with some of his fighters and when Garcia attempted to explain to him that Rios was a little behind with his workout due to some interview obligations with ESPN, the Five-time Trainer of the Year got irate and could be heard calling Garcia a ‘piece of sh*t’.

As reported by various outlets online, a near brawl took place in Macau, China mere hours ago between Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach and members from the team of Brandon Rios, including trainer Robert Garcia and brazen strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza.
Pacquiao faces off with Rios on Saturday night, Nov. 23 in Macau, China on HBO pay per view.
