It’s been a few years now that Hustle Boss has been in the trenches with UK star and top-flight junior welterweight contender Ashley “Treasure” Theophane.

Around the time we first started corresponding with Theophane, around early 2012 I would reckon, he was in town for some training at the Mayweather Boxing Club in hopes of keeping his career alive. Theophane was then an unsigned free agent with a checkered record and there was no clear direction on where his career was heading.

On Nov. 21, inside of the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nev., former junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will face off with WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto in an HBO pay per view showdown.

At just 25 years old and sporting a 45-1-1 record with 32 knockouts, Alvarez stands as one of the future faces of the sport of boxing, yet there is a lot on the line for him in this match. The simple fact that two of Golden Boy Promotions’ top stars, Lucas Matthysse and David Lemieux, suffered stoppage losses this month puts more pressure on Alvarez to perform against Cotto.

The last time we caught up with Zab Judah in Las Vegas, he wasn’t too far removed from the disappointment of seeing his then-scheduled Sep. 10 bout with Hevinson Herrera cancelled due to a scuffle between the two men at the weigh-in that forced his opponent to claim injury and pull out of the match.

Judah has been working hard with his team inside of City Athletic Boxing and now it looks like a new date may be in play for his return.

On Saturday night, Oct. 3, inside of the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., Ukraine native Viktor Postol came away with the biggest victory over his career in stopping Argentina’s Lucas Matthysse in the 10th round of their junior welterweight clash.

Matthysse, 33, took the early lead in the HBO-televised contest but it was Postol, 31, who weathered the storm and began controlling the distance and pace of the matchup. Matthysse was always pressing and appeared to rock Postol several times in the seventh round but he simply had trouble dealing with the size and length of his foe.
