A Return to MAGIC

By Chris Robinson

More than 15 years ago, I was first introduced to MAGIC Market Week in Las Vegas, though at the time, I had no idea how significant the event would become in my professional journey.

Back then, I was deeply involved in the world of boxing, working as a reporter and regularly covering fights across the city. While the action in the ring was my primary focus, I couldn’t help but notice that the Mandalay Bay frequently hosted large-scale conventions. The steady mix of professionals from different industries sparked my curiosity and eventually led me to explore the convention scene for myself.

That curiosity brought me to my first MAGIC Market Week.

From the moment I stepped onto the show floor, I was struck by the sheer scale of the event. Rows upon rows of exhibitors filled the space, representing a wide range of fashion categories and styles. What stood out most was not just the volume, but the diversity—brands from across the globe, each bringing their own identity, culture, and creative vision to the marketplace.

It was a completely different vibe than reporting on boxing, but one that I could instantly appreciate.

MAGIC Las Vegas has long been recognized as the largest fashion marketplace in the United States, serving as a central hub where retailers, buyers, designers, and industry professionals come together. For me, it offered more than just a look at emerging trends; it provided a chance to connect directly with brand owners and creators. Those conversations gave me a deeper appreciation for the purpose behind each label, from independent startups to established names.

Now, years later, MAGIC Market Week is once again approaching. The upcoming event is scheduled for August 10–12, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, continuing its tradition as one of the industry’s most influential gatherings.

This year’s show is expected to feature approximately 2,000 exhibitors from over 45 countries, spanning a broad spectrum of categories including sportswear, footwear, contemporary fashion, and children’s apparel. The event is thoughtfully organized into ten distinct communities across its core segments—MAGIC, PROJECT, and SOURCING at MAGIC—making it easier for attendees to navigate and focus on specific areas of interest.

As the fashion world prepares to converge once again in Las Vegas, MAGIC Market Week remains a key destination for discovering new trends, building relationships, and gaining insight into the ever-evolving global marketplace.

We look forward to returning and bringing you our perspective from the floor.
