It’s not a secret that boxing’s perennial pound for pound king, Floyd Mayweather, is going back and forth a little bit with UFC star Ronda Rousey in the press.

Rousey, who picked up a recent ESPY Award for “Best Fighter”, has taken to calling Mayweather out, although Floyd has thus far brushed her words off.

Rousey’s antics have caught the attention of another champion, however, as 2012 Gold Medalist Claressa Shields and her trainer Leon Lawson have taken offense to her actions. Shields feels that Rousey is simply using Mayweather’s name to increase her own star appeal, a move she feels is unwarranted given the fact that it’s an unrealistic fight to be made.

Instead, Shields would love to face Rousey, as soon as her 2016 Olympic run is over.

“It’s a fight that can happen,” Shields told Hustle Boss exclusively on Thursday. “I don’t know why she’s calling out Floyd. The fight is impossible. Ronda Rousey, she’s a great MMA fighter but I’m the best fighter for women’s boxing, period.”

Shields, who is a 2014  World Champion and 2015 Pan Am Champion as well, would prefer to wait until after her amateur run next year.

“We can do it professionally, were we can both make some money, but I’m not going to lose,” Shields stated. “I have the Olympics next year, but after that I’m definitely going pro. I’ll be 21. Young and ready.”
