As the weekend came to a close out in Las Vegas, the boxing world also took notice of a new heavyweight champion of the world in Deontay Wilder, who snatched the WBC crown from Bermane Stiverne with a 12-round unanimous decision from the MGM Grand.

With Wilder’s victory now behind us, boxing looks forward to both his future as a champion as well as what other high-profile matches may be good for the sport.

The discussion concerning Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao is again at a fever pitch, and everyone is chiming in with their two cents on whether will will seen this dream match up in 2015 and who to favor.

Catching up with super middleweight champion Andre Ward, he shared his thoughts on the latest talk.

“I don’t know,” Ward said when asked if we will see Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.

“I hope so,” he added. “It’s hard to get excited about it with everything that has been going on over the years. But that’s the fight that, I wouldn’t say boxing needs, but that boxing wants. And casual fans want to see.”

Ward favors Mayweather but can’t give his take without tipping his hate to Pacquiao in regards to his legendary career.

“I’ll always going with Floyd Mayweather but I got so much respect for Manny Pacquiao,” Ward said. “It’s a mega-fight.”
