Viloria Wins

A quick scan of the headlines shows that former two-division world champion Brian Viloria registered another victory when he stopped journeyman Armando Vasquez in the 4th round Saturday night inside of the Civic Auditorium in Glendale, Calif.

The bout was part of Top Rank’s UniMas “Solo Boxeo Tecate” card. Our guy Francisco Salazar was ringside and says that Viloria ended the show in the 4th after catching Vasquez with a left to the body.

With the win Viloria goes to 35-4 with 21 KO’s and nets his third straight victory following a split-decision loss to Juan Francisco Estrada in April of last year.

It’s not without question to think that Viloria could back into the title picture in the flyweight division. There are still some attractive options and big names around and Viloria’s fan-friendly style will always keep him in the mix.
