It’s another fight week in Las Vegas, as former two-division world champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and WBA/WBC and lineal middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin have made their official grand arrivals to the city. Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KO’s) and Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KO’s) fought to a highly-controversial split-draw one year ago inside of the T-Mobile Arena, the same place where the rematch will go down this Saturday.
“I’m bothered by all the stupid things they’ve been saying,” Alvarez stated to the press after his arrival.
“I don’t know which one to laugh about or get angry about at this point,” Alvarez continued. “But their statements are all excuses for the loss they will take this Saturday. I have been using all of these statements as motivation for my fight on Saturday. I know that it can be dangerous to go in the ring with a hot head, but I have experience. I know how to use this anger in the ring intelligently.”
There definitely has been some bad blood between the two camps, yet Alvarez is ready to deliver come fight night.
“I’m happy for all the support the fans give me, and I will give them a great fight this Saturday,” Alvarez stated.
