Over the years, we have come across countless names and faces inside of the Mayweather Boxing Club out in Las Vegas.

Some fighters in the gym, whether champions, contenders, or prospects, call Las Vegas home year-round while others frequent the city for brief stints randomly throughout the years.

It’s been well over three years since we’ve become familiar with Canada’s Steve Claggett, a top welterweight contender with a 23-3-1 record with 16 knockouts.

The last I had heard of Claggett, he was possibly in line to square off with fellow contender Brad Solomon but the fight fell through for various reasons.

Claggett insists he has several things in the works, however, and a quick look at his Boxrec page shows that he has indeed been staying busy in 2015. Not sure what 2016 has in store but Claggett expects to come back to Vegas for more training camps and he is right on the verge of a big fight.

Before leaving Vegas this particular trip we caught up with Steve as he worked with once-beaten lightweight contender Lydell Rhodes (23-1-1, 11 KO’s), seen below. Check out the clip for a look at the action and stay tuned for more news on Claggett’s career.
