Earlier today, budding lightweight prospect Kenneth Sims Jr. (5-0, 2 KO’s) confirmed an earlier report from Dan Rafael that he will be sparring with Manny Pacquiao ahead of the Filipino superstar’s pay per view clash with Floyd Mayweather on May 2.

“Just got the best call ever,” Sims stated on Facebook. “Feeling super blessed. Going to LA to be [one] of Manny Pacquiao’s main sparring partners for his fight against Floyd Mayweather.”

A few hours later, the Chicago native hit up Twitter.

“Sparring with Manny Pacquiao and being a part of the biggest event in boxing history will be a great experience,” stated the 21-year old. “I can’t wait.”

When I first met Sims in Las Vegas it was through fellow prospect Thomas Hill, as they both were just amateurs at the time.

Hill, now 2-0 himself, has known Sims for ten-plus years and expects him to do well.

“My bro is going to do good,” said Hill. “It’s going to be a good experience for him.”
