In a highly-anticipated Game 1 of the 2025 Western Conference Finals, the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 114-88 at home.

The Timberwolves came out strong, with Julius Randle scoring 20 points and making five out of six three-pointers as they closed the first half with a 48-44 lead.

The second half told a much different story, however, as the Thunder went on a 10-0 run in the third quarter to seize momentum. They outscored Minnesota 32-18 in that period to build a double-digit lead and never looked back.

Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, despite poor shooting early on, exploded in the second half, scoring 20 of his 31 points, while also finishing with nine assists, five rebounds, and three steals.

The Thunder’s bench also outperformed Minnesota’s second unit, contributing significantly to the victory.

Minnesota struggled offensively, shooting just 29-83 (34.9%) overall and committing 19 turnovers that Oklahoma City converted into 31 points. The Thunder shot 41-82 (50%) from the floor, and never let Minnesota regain momentum.

Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, limited by an ankle sprain, scored 18 points on 5-of-13 shooting, and will look to bounce back next game.

Game two takes place on Thursday at 8::30 pm ET.
