Photos from Lancaster, Ca. as young contender Chris Avalos prepares for his challenge of IBF junior featherweight champion Carl Frampton on Feb. 28 at the Odyssey Arena in Frampton’s backyard, Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Avalos is coming off of nice six-fight winning streak that has included stoppages over Drian Francisco, Rolly Lunas, and Yasutaka Ishimoto.

In each fight the 25-year old showed poise, power, and attacked with patient aggression.

Frampton, meanwhile, is regarded as one of the top young champions in the game and will be a tough assignment, so it’s good to see Avalos giving his all towards this opportunity. The fight should be nothing short of war.
