As seen in a post from Ninemsn.com on Sunday, Nov. 23, music star Jennifer Lopez paid homage to the late Celia Cruz at the 2013 AMAs and has since had the internet buzzing.

The Puerto Rican-born songstress performed a variety of Cruz’ songs at the annual award show inside of the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles overnight.

What stood out just as much as Lopez’s singing was her numerous costume changes as well as an elaborate dance routine that saw her flipped in the air courtesy of a male dancer.

The songs were sung in Spanish as a handful of the backup dancers got loose to the music that was made famous by Cruz, who passed away ten years ago at age 77.

Lopez’s performance received a standing ovation.

Prior to the show, Lopez claimed she “felt very honored and a little scared” before getting on stage.

“I don’t think there is anything better for this year’s AMA,” Lopez added.
