Angel Heredia says that Anthony Joshua reached out for his services (Photo: Hustle Boss)

This fight week in Las Vegas, we crossed paths with strength and conditioning coach Angel “Memo” Heredia.
Heredia works with top Cuban contender Yordenis Ugas, who faces off with unbeaten former champion Omar Figueroa Jr. on Saturday night at the the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Ugas vs. Figueroa will serve as a key undercard attraction to the Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman FOX Sports pay per view show.
While fielding questions about Ugas’ regimen for this camp, Heredia also dropped another gem. Heredia claims that former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, still a bit fresh off of his upset TKO loss to Andy Ruiz Jr. last month, had recently reached out to use his services, as well as seeking the guidance of trainer Ismael Salas.
Salas and Heredia work closely together and opted not to take up Joshua on his request, as they would have had to travel overseas to England, as opposed to the former champion committing to a camp in Las Vegas, where Ismael has his base.
Check out the video below for more details from Heredia.
