It’s hard to believe that the Manny Pacquiao-Brandon Rios fight was officially announced in early May, over six months ago from today.

It’s been a long and winding camp for Rios, who kicked off a light version of his training regimen in early July before turning up the heat come August.

Recent weeks inside of the Robert Garcia Boxing Academy have seen Rios go out all in sparring as the intensity continued to build, with much of the hard work now in his rearview.

The Kansas-born brawler and his team, led by trainer Robert Garcia, will be leaving America for Macau this Tuesday and for Rios, the trip can’t come soon enough.

During the first part of my interview with Brandon Rios, the former lightweight titlist expressed his shock at seeing how his former foe Mike Alvarado was dismantled this past weekend at the hands of Ruslan Provodnikov.

As the dialogue continued, the conversation focused on Rios’ own personal battle, as he is set to face off with Filipino star Manny Pacquiao on Nov. 23 in Macau, China in an HBO pay per view clash.

Read below for comments from Rios on the early reports coming from Pacquiao’s camp, his disdain towards HBO analyst Max Kellerman, why he believes that it is his critics who serve as the fuel to his fire, and much more.

There’s no denying that newly-crowned WBO junior welterweight titlist Ruslan Provodnikov proved his worth this past Saturday night after beating former titlist Mike Alvarado into submission inside of the 1STBANK Center in Denver, Colo.

In another tremendous firefight, Provodnikov showed a seemingly unbreakable will and stout power both to the body and head. After ten rounds of punishment and two knockdowns, Alvarado elected to stay on his stool in between rounds, granting the affable Russian with the biggest triumph of his career.

Watching the fight from his bases in Oxnard, Calif., former Alvarado foe Brandon Rios, who split a pair of fights with Mike, seemed at a loss as to how the action played out.

Later tonight, inside of the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley will look for a successful defense of his crown when he meets up with one of the greatest Mexican fighters of all-time, Juan Manuel Marquez.

The HBO pay per view showdown is clearly one of the most significant fights of the year as well as hard match to break down given the strengths of each man.

Several opinions of Bradley-Marquez have been gathered in recent weeks, with many observers unable to foresee a clear victor when asked for a prediction.

Count former lightweight titlist Brandon Rios in as one of those who is one the fence.
