According to a report from CBSSports.com on Sunday, June 23, the Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics have reached an agreement to release coach Doc Rivers from his contract with the Celtics that would allow him to sign with Los Angeles in exchange for a first-round draft pick in 2015.
There are three years and $21 million left on Rivers’ contract that Los Angeles has also agreed to pick up.
The league will reportedly approve the deal that will send the pick over to Boston in exchange for the release of Rivers, who lead Boston to a championship in 2008.
