Interesting matchup just surfaced, as it looks like Cleveland native and junior middleweight contender Willie Nelson (23-2-1, 13 KO’s) will be looking to bounce back against undefeated Tony Harrison (21-0, 18 KO’s) on July 11 in Tampa, Fl.

The bout will be a key undercard attraction to the Keith Thurman vs. Luis Collazo Premier Boxing Champions card on ESPN.

Nelson had been riding a seven-fight winning streak prior to his last fight, a unanimous decision loss to Vanes Martirosyan this past October in which he fought well but was out-hustled much of the match.

The fight with Harrison figures to be a good litmus test for Nelson, as the Detroit native has stopped his last ten opponents and is looking for a breakthrough.

After years of working under Jack Loew, Nelson is now teamed up with Brian Schwartz at Undisputed Boxing Gym is San Carlos, Calif. Nelson also trains with coaches Mike Bazzel and Remi Korchemny and is part of the SNAC team.
