Moments ago, inside of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, California, former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (42-1-1, 30 KO’s) and his opponent Brian Vera (23-6, 14 KO’s) both made the catch weight limit of 173 pounds ahead of their HBO-televised clash tomorrow night.
The Chavez-Vera fight has endured its share of hiccups, from seeing the fight postponed on multiple occasions to news surfacing earlier this week that Chavez was having serious difficulty making the super middleweight limit of 168 pounds that the fight was originally agreed upon.
After some suspense, a catch weight of 173 pounds was agreed upon.
