Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs (29 -1) stopped Caleb Truax ( 25-2-2) in the 12th round to defend his WBA interim middleweight title on Saturday night from within the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Ill. on Spike TV.

In what was an uneventful fight, Jacobs eventually landed some huge shots in round 11 to back Truax on the ropes. Ultimately Jacobs proved to be the better man as he was winning the fight by a wide margin an ended up scoring a TKO in the 12th and final round.

When asked who he would like to face next, Jacobs replied whoever Al Haymon would like for him next.

Also on the card, welterweight contender Roberto Garcia (37 – 3) defeated James Stevenson (22-2) in an eight-round fight.

Garcia was scheduled to fight Shawn Porter last month, when he unexpectedly withdrew when he could not make weight and dehydration issues.

Stevenson dropped Garcia early in round 1, as Garcia complained that he had been hit in the back of the head.

However, Garcia was not impacted by Stevenson’s power and easily won a unanimous decision.

One judge had it 77-73 and the other two had it 78-73. After the fight Garcia said that he was disappointed with his weight issues leading up to the Porter fight, and that he really wants that fight versus Porter. Prior to the scheduled fight with Porter, Garcia was coming of a unanimous decision victory over Breidis Prescott.
