On Saturday night, Dec. 14, in Cancun, Quinta Roo, Mexico, inside of the Playa del Carmen, amateur champion and aspiring professional prospect Damien “Sugar” Vasquez (2-0, 2 KO’s) will look to improve his record to 3-0 when he faces off with Javier Marquez on a Golden Boy Promotions event headlined by Frankie ‘Pitbull’ Gomez’s return against Prince Doku Jr.

At only 16 years old, Vasquez has already turned a lot of heads around the Las Vegas scene with a polished style that beguiles his youth. For this particular camp, Vasquez sparred 34 rounds inside of Johnny Tocco’s Gym, including some sessions with Bryce Yeniki and Rodrigo Aranda

Vasquez’s older brother Israel, a former world champion in the junior featherweight division who endeared himself to fans with his memorable trilogy against Rafael Marquez, stopped by Damien’s camp once again for further assistance.

Expect a follow up report with Vasquez in the coming weeks.
