This past Saturday, Oct. 10, inside of the Walnut Recreation Center in Las Vegas, Nev., two of Vegas’ top amateur prospects locked horns.

Daijon Carter, from the famed Johnny Tocco’s Boxing Gym, and Dayton Harris, out of the Mayweather Boxing Club, met during the recent “USA vs. Ireland” showdown and it was a very competitive affair for 3 rounds. Luis Monda works with Carter and Otis Pimpleton was in Harris’ corner.

Carter is a familiar face to Hustle Boss audiences, as he is a fixture during the First Friday Sparring Exhibitions that have been taking place at Tocco’s. Harris too is a top talent in the city, despite just having seven amateur bouts to date.

When the action got going you could tell instantly that Harris was looking to make an imprint on the fight. Fighting with a rangy jab, Harris looks a little bit like a young Jermain Taylor in there.

So too is Carter gifted with his hands, but he simply seemed to get off to a slow start on this night and ultimately lost a split-decision.
