It’s easy to get behind a guy like Rashad Ganaway and show support.
The Arkansas native first caught my attention some years back during one of his sparring sessions with former world champion Mickey Bey. After some further investigation, I found out that Ganaway had actually fought Bey in August of 2009, losing an eight-round split-decision.
What I instantly noticed about Ganaway while covering him out here in Las Vegas, is just how polished of a boxing style he has. His Sep. 2014 duel with local fan favorite Jesus “Chuy” Gutierrez was a memorable duel and Ganaway has since reeled off three consecutive victories.
On May 12, in Dallas, Tex., Ganaway stopped tough prospect Karim “KC” Martinez in the ninth round to capture the NABF junior welterweight title, in perhaps his most definitive victory to date.
Ganaway is already back to work, as Hustle Boss swung through Phase 1 Sports in Las Vegas recently and caught up with him.
