On Friday, Sep. 18, former pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather could be spotted inside of the doors of his personal gym in Las Vegas, Nev.
Mayweather is less than two weeks removed from his 49th professional bout, as he scored a unanimous decision victory over Andre Berto on Sep. 12 inside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Mayweather was his typical self with Berto, as he focused on his defense while chosing the right moments to open up and engage.
Mayweather continues to insist that he is officially retired from the sport and there is presently a debate as to whether or not he will choose to remain on the sidelines or come out for at least one more encore performance.
There are presently several fighters actively competing under Mayweather’s promotional banner and the next show for Mayweather Promotions is slated for Sep. 29 at the Palms Casino and Resort.
In the evening’s main event, WBA junior lightweight champion Javier Fortuna will defend his title vs. once-beaten Carlos Ivan Velasquez and there are six fighters from Mayweather Promotions appearing on the undercard, including J’Leon Love, Andrew Tabiti, Ladarius Miller, Lionell Thompson, Juan Heraldez, and Mickey Bey.
Mayweather often loves to keep tabs on the progress of his fighters throughout the year and always has a vested interest in the sparring that takes place in his gym.
