Floyd Mayweather wins a majority-decision over Marcos Maidana in one of his toughest fights to date

Moments ago, inside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Floyd Mayweather pulled out a majority-decision over Marcos Maidana in a tough fight full of action and momentum shifts.

It was widely-assumed that Maidana’s plan would be to attack Mayweather will relentless aggression and that’s exactly what the Argentinean did.

Over the first half of the bout, Maidana showed his true qualities, as he had success pinning Mayweather along the ropes and hammering home hard shots to the body and head.

Mayweather would return fire of his own but you could tell first-hand just how hard and physical of a fight this was turning into.

When the match was in the center of the ring, Mayweather would control the tempo of the fight but whenever Maidana found a way to take the action to the trenches, he found a way to score points.

Over the second half of the match, Mayweather picked up his pace and began boxing a bit smarter while landing his blows at a great rate.

The atmosphere was electric in the twelfth and final round as the two men left their final impressions.

Scorecards of 117-111, 116-112, and 114-114 were read, granting Mayweather a majority-decision victory in one of his toughest fights to date.

Mayweather raises his record to 46-0 with 26 knockouts while Maidana falls to 35-4 with 31 knockouts.
