The action keeps rolling along in Las Vegas inside of the T-Mobile Arena as we await the Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin showdown.
On the undercard, in a battle of unbeaten, Diego De La Hoya handed former bantamweight champion Randy Caballero his first defeat. De La Hoya (20-0, 9 KO’s) was a little sharper and busier than Caballero (24-1, 13 KO’s), capturing a unanimous decision over ten rounds via scorecards of 100-90 and 98-92 twice.
“The winner tonight are the fans,” Caballero stated after his defeat. “When we did this fight, we knew it was going to be a great opportunity to put on a good show. Diego is a good kid, and a great fighter and I wish him the best.”
De La Hoya shared his thoughts and knew ahead of time what to expect.
“I trained for this fight, knowing it was going to be a really great battle,” De La Hoya stated. “All my sacrifice, I fueled into this fight.”
