Nonito Donaire Sr. is no stranger to talent.

With his son Nonito Donaire, having established himself as a can’t-miss star in the sport in recent times, the elder Donaire has been able to watch first-hand just how impactful some of his practices and teachings are.

As he continues to ply his craft up in Northern California, it looks now like Donaire Sr. actually has a new propsect on his hands.

Donaire Sr. is now training undefeated welterweight Rudy Macedo (1-0, 1 KO) out of Novato, Calif. and the duo are patiently eyeing a ring return in 2015.

This past October, Macedo scored a successful pro debut when he stopped Mario Aguirre in Sacramento in under 2 rounds. Macedo had great success as an amateur over 70 bouts, including a PAL championship, 5 silver gloves championships, and a golden glove championship.

Still just 20 years old, the Uraguay native has already gotten great work from the likes of Amir Khan, Willie Nelson, Fabian Maidana, and several others as he continues to sharpen his skills.

Having originally tested out the waters of Tae Kwon Do at the young age of three, Macedo shortly thereafter switched his focus towards boxing upon moving to America and it has been his life the past 15 years.

Stay tuned for more news on Macedo’s next bout and check out his pro debut below.
