Larry Willis will be having a busy night on Saturday.

Willis, a former amateur standout boxer and current trainer out of Fort Myers, will be leading two of his fighters into battle at the Rumble in the Bay 3 card inside of the Bryan Glazer Family JCC Auditorium in Tampa, FL.

Willis’ son Marcus, a junior middleweight veteran with an 18-6-2 (5 KO’s) record, will be returning for the first time in over two years to face off with Mexico’s Ernesto Berrospe (11-14, 6 KO’s). Also, undefeated junior featherweight prospect Brian Cannady Jr. (10-0, 6 KO’s), who Willis trains, will be fighting for the vacant NABF Junior Super Fly Title against Victor Trejo Garcia.

Larry’s son Quinton was originally scheduled to see action but word has spread that his bout has been called off.

No matter what happens, the show goes on for Willis.

“If Quinton is fighting, I know Marcus is going to be in the corner with me,” Larry explained. “And if Marcus is fighting, Quinton is going to be in the corner with me. And if Brian is fighting, they both are in the corner with me. We’re always together.”

Willis has been training Cannady for nearly 15 years and recognizes the importance of his fight as well.

“This is very important, because this is Brian’s first chance to get a title, and he’s got a good opportunity to get this title,” Larry explained.
