Johnny Tocco’s Boxing Gym will be hosting more exhibition sparring sessions on Jan. 2

I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped into Johnny Tocco’s Boxing Gym in early November for the first edition of their Exhibition Sparring series inside of their famed facility.

For anyone who has kept up with HustleBoss.com over the past few years, you know all too well that raw, all-access sparring footage is a big part of the boxing coverage featured on the site and that’s why Tocco’s latest revival is right up our alley.

On the kickoff series, there were eight matches that went down and each session was lively. Two of the gym’s  top prospects, Jeremy “J Flash” Nichols and Daijon Carter, closed things out in style and set the bar for future shows.

The next series of sparring will take place on Friday, Jan. 2 and word has been spreading around the city about what this series could mean.

Tocco’s manager Luis Monda confirmed to HustleBoss.com that the eventual goal is to showcase not just core fighters from Tocco’s, but also some of the best up and comers from other gyms.

With so much bustling talent in the city, we very well could see some great matchups in the months to come.
