As his clash with Danny Garcia inches closer, WBC interim junior welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32 KO’s) has been putting in some work at the Boys and Girls Club in Indio, Calif.
The facility is ran by former contender Joel Diaz, who trains WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley. Matthysse has been putting in some rounds with Bradley and moments ago it was revealed that the Argentinean has also been going to work with upcoming prospect Jose Benavidez Jr.
“Good sparring today with Lucas Matthysee in Coachella Ca,” stated Benavidez’s father and trainer Jose Sr. on Facebook.
Expect more updates in the coming weeks.
Garcia vs. Matthysse takes place from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sept. 14 as part of “The One” Showtime pay per view telecast.
