Keith “One Time” Thurman is a few days away from a potentially-career defining fight.

Thurman (27-0, 22 KO’s), the WBA welterweight champion of the world, will face off with WBC champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (33-0, 19 KO’s) inside of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The matchup, set to air on SHOWTIME, is one of the best fights in the sport to make and will go a long way to determining who is the best in the sport at 147 pounds.

Thurman, of Clearwater, Fl., admits to how meaningful this clash with Philadelphia’s Garcia truly is.

“It feels great to be in this big fight,” said Thurnan. “This is what we’ve been dreaming of. It feels like my destiny. When you put so much hard work into the sport, everyone knows you’re planting a seed. You have to watch it grow and nurture it before it starts to bear fruit.”

Thurman defeated former IBF champion Shawn Porter this past June, but feels the Garcia duel is on a bigger stage.

“I expect the best of Danny Garcia,” Thurman stated. “This is the biggest fight of either of our careers. I saw the best of Shawn Porter, but Keith Thurman was able to rise to the top once again.”
