Seems like just yesterday that we were inside of the doors of the Pound 4 Pound Boxing Gym in Las Vegas watching young twins Angel and Chavez Barrientes make noise well before hitting their teenage years.

Now both 17 years of age, Angel and Chavez both recently had successful pro debuts this past Thursday evening in Tijuana, Mexico. The result, that sees both Barrientes twins move to 1-0 (1 KO), was a first round knockout for each fighter.

“I felt good to finally fight as a professional with no head gear and eight oz. gloves,” said Angel “A-K 47” Barrientes. “As soon as I let my first punch go, I felt comfortable. I got the knockout and I’m ready to make a quick return back to the ring.”

So too did Chavez reflect on the moment.

“To turn professional at 17-years old was a dream come true as my brother and I have been waiting for this day since we first laced up a pair of gloves,” said Chavez “The Beast” Barrientes. “For both of us to score first round knockouts was incredible. We both want to get back in the ring right away and continue this journey.”

While watching the Barrientes twins train for many years, we can attest to just how much hard work they put in away from the bright lights. They have always remained humble and quiet, but now it’s the time for them to start really making noise.
